The PL-P4/N is a patented upgrade adapter for Socket-423 based Pentium 4 computers, such as the Dell Dimension 8100, Dell Optiplex GX400 and similar systems from HP/Compaq, IBM, Gateway, etc... With the PL-P4/N, you can obtain significantly faster performance from your Socket-423 system, without the hassle of replacing the entire motherboard. The PL-P4/N allows you to remove the Socket-423 "Willamette" core Pentium 4 processor in your system and replace it with a Socket-478 "Northwood" core Pentium 4 processor.
